After taking care of the Arcanist Guild for the few weeks, secretly Elmar hoped that his friend and mantor would still show up. Although people already start referring to him as Head Arcanist, he keeps reminding them, he is just the Interim Head Arcanist.
No matter how long it takes, Elmar refuses to accept his new position. "Our laws state that a Head Arcanist will be replaced, if they either step down, or get killed." He keeps telling everyone. "We either need to find him alive, or dead. Or we keep searching!"
After several weeks of this, Celenar and Vivibrix ask for an audience with Eduardo Margrave, the Captain of the STN Fighters Guild. The three of them, manage to convince Elmar to make things official. Head Arcanist Vaelion Moonshade, is not coming back.
Since the city needs an active Head Arcanist, with the full support of the other guilds, some one needs to get promoted. The choice will be between the three High Arcanists Elmar Purrwhisker, Celenar Frostshard and Vivibrix Spellwhisper.
The three other guilds quickly show their support for High Arcanist and Interim Head Arcanist Elmar, as he has fulfilled the duties over the last few weeks already. And with both Celenar and Vivibrix supporting that choice, it turned out not to be a hard one.
Still reluctant, but now finally willing to mourne his friend and mentor, on Y35406 M08 W06 D01, Elmar accepts his new title as Head Arcanist.

While conducting research into the Eldritch Emporium, Head Arcanist Vaelion Moonshade comes accross an old mention to an outpost. An outpost he is not aware off. As Head Arcanist, this is not possible.
He regularly visits all the outposts. After looking into it further, Vaelion realizes this might be one of the old outposts, the city had early on, before the Midnight Enclave became a real threat.
The more Vaelion read about this particular outpost, the more it peeks hist interests. A cave where they were mining Arcane Mana Crystals?!
If only they could get that outpost back, the extra power against the Enclave, it would save tens of thousands of lives per year.
But he does not want to get people their hopes up. He should be sure, before he lets the other leaders of the city know.
He decides to travel to the north of The Shadewoods to meet with Virelda Nettlegrin. Virelda is older then the city, blessed with extreme long life as a Hagpie, she must know something about this outpost.
It will be several days of travel, through dangerous territory, but as one of the strongest magic wielders, he can handle himself.
He tells his second in command, Elmar Purrwhisker and several leaders of the other guilds know he will be out of the city for a few days, and that in the mean time, anything they need, Elmar will provide.
